A bit pricey, but covers just about everything you need to know
By M. Krause
This is a textbook on carpentry. I'm not a professional carpenter, but I have done alot of remodel work and cabinetry in my spare time. Sometimes I'm not 100% sure on how to do something, but I have always been able to find the answers in this book. Also covers some drywalling, concrete forming, and cabinet installation.

Carpentry

I was taking some classes at the college for a new career direction. One of the classes was Blueprint reading, not being proficiant with all construction terminology, I approached my teacher for some additional help. This was one of the books recomended to me. It did in fact help me quite a bit in the classroom, but also the diagrams and instructions are helpful in my daily work. I would recomend this book highly to newcomers in the consruction field, and I think it is a good reference book for those in the field already.

Carpentry
By Joseph Cornacchione
Good general text on carpentry trade. Good step by step illustrations and instructions. Lacks chapter on general safety if used in institution. Lacking a little on charts for estimation of materials etc. Rafter chart would be helpful in text. Good for carpentry students with no experience.
